The Quarry
Okay. So it’s not actually a quarry. Instead, I would more accurately describe it as a vault securing the most diverse collection of worldly stone that I have ever seen! Row upon row…

Room upon room….
Of the most unique color combinations beyond description. Mother Nature knows her stuff and someone somewhere comes up with the perfect name to describe her unquestionable talent. -Now THAT would be an awesome job!
When we finished checking in, the guy stood up and put on his heavy winter jacket. My immediate thought? We were heading back outside. Hmmm… maybe the granite was kept in another building. To my surprise he gestured for us to walk down a short hallway.
When he opened the door, you could feel the cold immediately. He said it was 40 degrees or colder in there. I totally believe it! The granite retained the cold better then an icebox left outside during the dead of winter.
Luckily, he had trouble finding our collection of slabs so instead of dragging us around, he left us to search on his own. This gave DJ and me plenty of time to wander in wonderment -and snap a few photos along the way!
Here are some of the beauties I wanted to share.

I was impressed by this combination. This slab is perfectly named Stone Wood.

Here we have Golden Lightening. Who says blue is not a natural color?! I was quite surprised by the amount of blue we actually saw.
Then we saw it. Our choice. Giallo Veneziano. Very Italian sounding, right? Nope. It’s from Brazil. The best part? WE LOVE IT!!

Thank you Judy at Home Depot…. thank you Innovative Stone… and thank you MS International. What an experience!
